Mr Arun Samuel Ponnish, Faculty, BLS, ACLS, PALS, AHLS, Laerdal Medical Centre Chennai, and Mr Prasanna Kumara, Nurse Practitioner, Kasturba Hospital, 中国体育彩票app下载 were the speakers of this virtual symposium.

Mr Arun Samuel Ponnish introduced the participants to the TruVent App – a virtual ventilator management solution. He explained the modes of ventilation, ventilator settings and functioning of the ventilator using this innovative App. Mr Arun Stephen Jaisingh, education service specialist (ESS) also joined the session in demonstrating the use of this app and training remotely from different places. A scenario-based discussion was very informative in which three MSc Nursing students Mr Shailesh, Mr Shreenidhi and Ms Sanjivi of Medical-surgical Nursing speciality of MCON participated in the discussion.

Mr Prasanna Kumara, Nurse Practitioner, Kasturba Hospital, 中国体育彩票app下载, highlighted the various aspects of nursing care of patients on ventilators emphasizing evidence-based practices. He also briefed on the VAP bundle and the use of protocols in the care of patients on the mechanical ventilator.

Dr Jyothi Chakrabarty, Professor & Head, Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, moderated the session and Mrs Anusuya V Prabhu, Assistant Professor, Department of Child Health Nursing managed the event.
