Childrens day celebration

The birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of independent India on 14th November is celebrated as children's day all over India. Childhood memories are sweetest of all. Faculty and students of department of Child Health Nursing organized Children’s day activities in Asare - the home for mentally challenged, 中国体育彩票app下载 and Asha Nilaya Udupi, on 6th November 2014 and 13th November 2014.

On 6th November 2014 at Asare, children’s day activities included different games for children like passing the ball, musical chair and throwing the ball into a bucket. ?Around 25 mentally challenged children actively participated in all the games. Students ?of I year PBBSc and III year BSc Nursing performed a group song, two action songs, one classical and one non classical group dance and a skit in Kannada. The children of Asare also performed two wonderful group dances. Mrs.Sujatha Nambiar, warden at Asare addressed the students on this occasion. The managing trustee, Mrs. Vijayalaxmi, expressed the gratitude for celebrating the day with the special children. Prizes were given to the winners of the games and snacks were distributed to all the children. Ms. Lorita Carol Fernandes of I year PBBSc proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Ms. Anusha Dsouza, III year BSc Nursing student.

On 13th November 2014, program was conducted at Asha Nilaya Udupi. Around 40 children participated in the programme. ?The program started with different games for children like passing the ball, running race and throwing the ball into a bucket. The students enthusiastically participated in all the games. It was followed by cultural program by II PBBSc and III year BSc Nursing students. Prizes were distributed to the winners and snacks were given to all the children. Mrs. Jyothi of II year PBBSc Nursing compered the programme.
